Radiology

x-rays

Radiographs--often called X-rays—are an imaging technology that is used to evaluate solid tissues or areas of the body with contrasting tissue densities.

Oak Ridge Animal Clinic is equipped to perform routine radiology services to identify many types of illness or injury, including:

  • Arthritis
  • Tumors
  • Lung abnormalities (including pneumonia)
  • Bladder and kidney stones
  • Bone damage
  • Organ integrity
  • Foreign objects

Radiographs are also taken before dental procedures to distinguish between healthy and diseased teeth and determine which require extraction.
